Teaching has taken a whole new meaning over the past few years as the walls of the classroom are seeming to become more and more invisible while its students are interacting with people from all over the world. Video conferencing has added a new thrill to learning in the classroom. Through the use of video conferencing, teachers are able to plan and coordinate experiences for students that not only fulfill the curriculum, but also address larger goals at hand. The interactive, immediate qualities of this mode of communication appeals to a variety of learning styles and the developmental needs of adolescents, in particular, those of social interaction and self-expression. Student motivation, combined with teacher enthusiasm and administrative support, has caused our videoconferencing initiative to grow, and it will continue to grow in the future.
